Case-to-phone attachment and magnetic accessory support are different things.
A case can have magnets for chargers and wallets yet still need adhesive to hold its front frame or rear shell to the phone. The labels below describe how the case attaches to the Duo, not just whether it works with magnetic accessories.
Choose this if frequent removal matters more than side coverage. Its magnetic attachment lets you take it off without peeling adhesive, and the integrated stand is useful for desk viewing.
The trade-off The folio covers the outer display when closed and does not protect the sides like a wraparound shell. It is not a rugged-case recommendation.
A thin, two-piece polycarbonate case for the rear and the frame around the outer display. A reasonable pick if you prefer an uncovered outer screen and intend to leave the case installed.
Read before installing Reporting on the included insert describes peeling protective film from the adhesive, fitting each half, and pressing it down. Its built-in MagSafe magnets do not make it magnetic-only. The hinge remains exposed.
Consider the matched set for a slim woven-aramid finish and a front assembly with integrated outer-screen glass. PITAKA explicitly says its front and back pieces have pre-fitted adhesive strips to reduce slipping.
Choose the right configuration Rear-only, front-with-glass, and matched sets are different purchases. Confirm the selected set and installation instructions; do not assume magnetic grip compatibility eliminates adhesive.
Why not label every magnetic case? We have not treated terms such as MagFit, MagLock, MagSafe, or “snap-on” as proof of adhesive-free retention. If a model's installation method is not documented, it is not in this attachment shortlist.
02 / PENCILS & STYLUSES
Compatibility first. Size second.
One announced Apple Pencil option. Four third-party options, with the evidence explained.
Which third-party pencils work with Duo? MEKO explicitly recommends its 2-in-1 Silicone Suction Cup Stylus Pen for iPhone Duo's everyday touchscreen tasks. That is a manufacturer claim, not Apple certification or our own test. Adonit's Dash 4, Mini 4, and Neo Duo have general touchscreen compatibility claims, but we have not verified Duo-specific support for them. None is presented here as an Apple Pencil-feature replacement.
iPhone Duo pencil and third-party stylus compatibility
General-device mode; the name does not establish iPhone Duo support.
Conditional basic touch in green mode, not the blue iPad mode's palm rejection.
165 mm; 47.2 mm longer than the phone's height.
Outer versus inner display: the third-party sources linked here do not establish separate, tested approval for both Duo displays or the foldable surface. Get confirmation for the exact pen, tip, and intended screen before use, especially the inner display. A working touch response alone does not prove screen safety.
THE ANNOUNCED PENCIL CHOICE01 / 05
DUO SUPPORT ANNOUNCED · NOT YET AVAILABLE
Apple Pencil (USB-C)
Our choice for Pencil-specific input once Apple releases Duo support. The USB-C model offers precision and tilt sensitivity, but not pressure sensitivity, squeeze, double-tap, or Find My. Do not assume iPad-only features such as hover carry over to Duo.
155 mm long · 8.9 mm diameter
How it fits the Duo It is 37.2 mm longer than the 117.8 mm-tall phone, so a flush, vertical spine slot cannot contain it. Carry it separately or use a holder that explicitly accommodates its full length and diameter. USB-C is used for pairing and charging; do not assume the Duo provides iPad-style magnetic storage or charging.
MEKO recommends this specific pen in its iPhone Duo guide for browsing, tapping, and everyday touch interaction. Replaceable clear-disc and silicone tips offer two contact styles, without charging or Bluetooth. This is a finger-like capacitive stylus, not a third-party Apple Pencil with palm rejection, pressure, or tilt features.
Battery-free · Exact model length not verified
How it fits the Duo Consider it for simple touch tasks, not precision Pencil workflows. The maker's article does not document screen-by-screen tests or foldable-tip approval. Confirm the intended display and tip before use. MEKO sells several different 2-in-1 pens; do not apply another model's dimensions or compatibility to this one.
Adonit lists iPhone support through the Dash 4's green general-device mode, with no Bluetooth pairing. Its separate blue mode supplies palm rejection on supported iPads, not an established Duo feature. Adonit explicitly rules out pressure sensitivity, tilt, and shortcut-button features in both modes.
Rechargeable · Dedicated magnetic USB-C charging stand
How it fits the Duo An option to evaluate if you prefer a powered pen with replaceable nibs, but Duo-specific function and inner-screen safety remain unverified. Keep the charger in your kit; the magnetic charging stand does not mean the phone charges or holds the pen. Verify barrel dimensions against any case-mounted holder.
A battery-free precision-disc stylus marketed for touchscreens. The split barrel protects the disc in transit, and the clip makes it a compact carry option. This is not an Apple Pencil: do not expect Pencil integration, pressure sensitivity, or palm rejection.
About 110 mm packed · 126 mm in use
How it fits the Duo Packed, it is about 8 mm shorter than the phone; in use, it is about 8 mm longer. That makes it easier to pocket, but a shorter grip may suit large hands less well. We have not verified Duo-specific operation or foldable-screen safety. Confirm use on the intended display with the manufacturers; do not assume universal-touch claims approve contact with the inner display.
Adonit's dual-mode pen has a green-light general-device mode and a separate blue-light iPad mode. Consider it only as a general-touch alternative after confirming Duo suitability. Its name “Duo” does not mean it was designed for iPhone Duo.
165 mm long
How it fits the Duo It is 47.2 mm longer than the folded phone, favoring a separate pen sleeve over a phone-height holder. Do not expect the iPad mode's palm rejection or magnetic iPad attachment to work on Duo. We have not verified Duo-specific input or inner-display safety; check the intended screen with the manufacturers before use.
Apple Pencil Pro, Apple Pencil (2nd generation), and Apple Pencil (1st generation) are not listed for Duo. Logitech Crayon and iPad-only third-party pencils are not confirmed alternatives here either. Matching connectors, a smaller body, or the ability to attach a magnet cannot establish digitizer compatibility. Apple's older Pencil compatibility article lists iPads; use the newer Duo specifications for the announced USB-C support.
03 / A LITTLE PERSPECTIVE
A short phone. A longer pencil.
The Duo measures 117.8 mm tall × 84.1 mm wide when closed; unfolded width is 164.6 mm. The same 117.8 mm height applies open or closed. These are body measurements, not screen diagonals. Source: Apple ↗
For notes and sketching: favor the announced USB-C Pencil once support ships. A full-length barrel gives more room to grip, but needs separate storage.
For a small everyday kit: the Mini 4's packed size is appealing, but portability does not establish Duo compatibility or screen safety. MEKO's battery-free pen avoids charger bulk; Dash 4 needs its dedicated charging stand. Exact carry lengths for those two models are not verified here, so they are not plotted.
For case-mounted carry: check internal holder length, diameter, and closure clearance. Even the Mini 4 being shorter when packed does not prove it fits a particular slot. Never close the phone with a pen or holder between the displays.

HOW WE CHOOSE
Specific advice, with the limits left in.
Research checked October 17, 2026, using Apple's product specifications, manufacturer descriptions, and the reporting linked beside each pick. These are editorial recommendations, not hands-on Duo tests or paid rankings. Apple announces USB-C Pencil support; MEKO recommends its named capacitive model for Duo. Those are different evidence levels, not equivalent feature or certification claims. The three Adonit pens are conditional general-touch options, not Duo-verified substitutes. MEKO's article broadly describes Apple Pencil support; Apple's specifications control our separate warning that USB-C Pencil support is still pending.
Case attachment classifications are specific to the named configurations. Third-party fit, adhesive replacement rules, software support, and Amazon listings can change. Search links may return similar or unrelated products; confirm the exact model, seller, installation method, and return policy. We do not monitor prices or stock.
